Her designs are hand-dyed and hand painted, in small batches, in Austin, Tx. She uses non-toxic and eco-friendly dyes. @Vivalasilk_ is also committed to giving back! For every purchase made $1 is given to @creativeaction, a nonprofit that supports the creativity and development of the arts for youth in the community. In addition, each year Viva La Silk chooses a different social justice issue or theme and launches a youth-driven arts-based collective impact project. This small, black, female owned business, is doing everything the right way. The owner and mother of two, has centered her company around core values we should all aspire to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I own the turquoise ombre goddess wrap pants and matching scarf, and I can tell you the quality is second to none. Also, not to worry, Viva la Silk has video tutorials on different ways to wear the scarfs and wrap pants on their site. Danneel Ackles Instagram – Yesterday afternoon I took part in actively listening to a conversation on racial inequality and injustice by four renowned black activists @realdaryldavis @revdeborahjohnson @baratunde and @brionajenkins. One moment, in a conversation of many insightful moments, kept replaying in my mind. Reverand Deborah Johnson encouraged white allies not to turn on friends and family members who didn’t share their views on ending racial inequality but instead to speak with them and educate them on why they should care and stand with communities of color. She said, do this because.. “I don’t get a seat at that table.” WOW. I have been guilty of distancing myself from people I disagree with instead of confronting this behavior. This is not the way to change minds or the future. We must educate. Please listen to this conversation and share. #blacklivesmatter
