Okay. We did it, and both lived to tell about it. I will say, if you want to test your marriage during a pandemic quarantine, apply a wall mural together and see what happens. On a final note may I also suggest purchasing a wallpaper smoothing tool. We did not. Mistake.

Happy Mother’s Day Moms. This one is bittersweet for sure. In the past few months, I frequently have both joy and sadness find me in the same moment. Anyone else? What a roller coaster of emotions we must all learn to manage!?! Recently, I was taking a walk with my babies. My daughters each held one of my hands while my son rode on his Daddy’s shoulders. Just watching them filled my heart with pure joy. I looked up, the sun was shining and I had never been happier. My oldest daughter noticed my smile and we locked eyes….I had to look away quickly so I didn’t burst into tears. Their innocence and vulnerability to threats in our world and my responsibility as a mom to protect them suddenly seemed overwhelming. She squeezed my hand again and I looked back. She smiled. She was happy. She was at ease. She believed that I was strong, that I could protect her, and so she ran ahead to play. My breath came back. Our children can give us the power to rise above the fear and anxiety and to be the protectors they KNOW we are. Happy Mother’s Day. We are strong, and we are capable…. so keep smiling on this ride ❤️💪❤️ #happymothersday
Happy 10th Anniversary @JensenAckles you can call me Al or Betty or Bob as long as you call me your partner for the foreseeable future. I had fun making this little video with you, injuries aside. 😂😉 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Big thank you to @leoresig @johnresig @chive for allowing us on your set and @javiermercedesx for filming this beautiful mess. The biggest thanks of all to @paulsimonofficial and @chevychase for one of the greatest videos of all time and one of my favorite songs! 👈If you know me ..you know Graceland …and you know this is true🎶
What more can be said about this, it is disgusting, it is racist, it is hate in its purist form…saying things isn’t enough…action needs to be taken. We watched George Floyd’s murder. We watched his murder. We must all demand justice. We owe this to his family and to our African American Communities. If we are truly all in this together…..then let’s be all in this together. How many more horrific intolerable acts must take place… RIP #AhmaudArbery and thank goodness Christian Cooper was not added to the growing list of victims taken by the other virus infecting our Country. #georgefloyd #restinpower #blacklivesmatter 👈 hopefully this becomes clearer to those who “don’t get it”

On Memorial Day we honor those who sacrificed for our freedoms. I express my sincere gratitude for all the children and military families who have lost loved ones. Now more than ever it is imperative that we make certain we are representing the kind of American that is worthy of their sacrifices. In addition, we honor the souls of veterans and active military alike that we have lost to COVID19, may they also not be forgotten. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ 📷My grandfather was a tank mechanic, who served in Japan, the Philippines and several other European fronts earning a Bronze Star. My Uncle Frank Pepitone who was a glider pilot, took part in the D-Day Invasion, earning a Purple Heart. #memorialday #neverforgotten

I would like, with your help, to amplify the voice and the business of My-Cherie, the artist and designer of Viva La Silk. @Vivalasilk_ is driven by My-Cherie’s desire to “inspire women to feel beautiful and confident through her art and the vibrancy of her Afro-Carribean roots. Her designs are hand-dyed and hand painted, in small batches, in Austin, Tx. She uses non-toxic and eco-friendly dyes. @Vivalasilk_ is also committed to giving back! For every purchase made $1 is given to @creativeaction, a nonprofit that supports the creativity and development of the arts for youth in the community. In addition, each year Viva La Silk chooses a different social justice issue or theme and launches a youth-driven arts-based collective impact project. This small, black, female owned business, is doing everything the right way. The owner and mother of two, has centered her company around core values we should all aspire to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I own the turquoise ombre goddess wrap pants and matching scarf, and I can tell you the quality is second to none. Also, not to worry, Viva la Silk has video tutorials on different ways to wear the scarfs and wrap pants on their site. The link is up in my bio and they are offering discounts for first time buyers!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Racism can only end if we change the policies that perpetuate its existence👉also if you aren’t following @lavernecox do that! 🖤
Like many of you I have been actively researching ways to implement real change in my life and become more involved in organizations in my community that are helping to bring about economic and racial equality for people of color. One way we can all start helping today is by supporting black and minority owned businesses. Last night, before going to bed, I did a simple experiment. I checked the business origins of the first 10 products I came across. Fragrance, clothing, the throw on my bed,a book… Guess what? They were all made by white owned companies. I am willing to bet if I had continued this with 10 more, the results would have been the same. With that in mind, I am going to commit to buying and promoting more products by black and minority owned companies on my platform. If you have been a follower of mine for awhile, you know that my Instagram is not for sale. The products I choose to feature will be researched and paid for by me, no freebies or paid promos here. I encourage others to research and seek out products made by people of color, let’s share and amplify those voices.

Today at 3 PM PT/6 PM ET, @jensenackles, @misha, and I will be joining live to listen to a conversation about this painful crossroads moment and the possibilities it presents. Our panelists are 4 powerful activists of color: @realdaryldavis, @rev_deborah_johnson, @baratunde & @brionajenkins
Looking for ways to educate yourself and support small independent bookstores at the same time… I know where I’m headed. Visit “Baratunde’s World Saving Bookshop”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Repost by @baratunde 👉Thanks to @bookshop_org, I have a bookshop! Link in bio to “Baratunde’s World-Saving Bookshop” so far with three shelves. No more money to Jeff Bezos. He has enough. Instead these books come from independent bookstores around the country. No need to send people to Amazon or set up affiliate links there. I repeat, The Bezos has enough money. Let’s spend elsewhere. Thanks to @ninalorezcollins for introducing me to this site. Here’s what you can find in the shop so far:
Shelf 1: What Had Happened Was
Staff picks here are about history. These are books that provide context, also known as “stuff they probably didn’t teach you in school.” . .
Shelf 2: Time For Some Action
Picks here are focused on solutions. These authors literally tell you want to do, so there’s no excuses after reading these!
Shelf 3: The Play’s The Thing (Storytime)
Picks here are stories, mostly memoirs. A good story can do much more work than the best research and analysis. Check these out for the human side, and see yourself in someone else. .

message from @orendatribe❤️❤️ #linkinbio ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀Yesterday Navajo Nation became #1 in the USA for Covid 19 Positive per Capita. We’ve been working 49 days on creating solutions so we could be of service to our Diné community. As a former fashion exec in “fast fashion” coming up with solutions for “rapid response” has been second nature. It’s my skill set. It’s my offering. I got up at sunrise today to hold some space. To make an offering, say a prayer, greet this new day with strength and resilience. And to invite you in to a space of healing, by letting you know how you can help today. To answer all the questions. So here goes…….1. You can amplify. Get the message out. Create connectivity and kinship. Doesn’t cost a thing. 2. You can donate money. The button is up in my profile, and I’ve partnered with @ndncollective to accept monetary donations that fund the vital work we do on the Navajo Rez bringing critical aid. Masks, PPE, Food. 3. You can shop our SPREAD LOVE SHINE LIGHT auction and 100% of proceeds are going back to weekly spends on critical aid we deliver at lightspeed to those in need. We update daily 4. If you’re a maker, we’ll help you send handmade masks to our communities on the reservation that have still not received protection or aid. If you have “other” donations, we’ll get you the info you need. If you have questions, we’ll answer. [email protected] is a place for us to connect, so reach out. Thank you all for everything you have done to support this call to action. We are making a difference. I received phone calls all week from those that received masks and food this week, I wish I could share all these moments, all this beautiful kinship that is happening. We are giving many people hope that someone cares. Love to you all today. Ahéhee! (that means thanks! in Navajo)
Yesterday afternoon I took part in actively listening to a conversation on racial inequality and injustice by four renowned black activists @realdaryldavis @revdeborahjohnson @baratunde and @brionajenkins. One moment, in a conversation of many insightful moments, kept replaying in my mind. Reverand Deborah Johnson encouraged white allies not to turn on friends and family members who didn’t share their views on ending racial inequality but instead to speak with them and educate them on why they should care and stand with communities of color. She said, do this because.. “I don’t get a seat at that table.” WOW. I have been guilty of distancing myself from people I disagree with instead of confronting this behavior. This is not the way to change minds or the future. We must educate. Please listen to this conversation and share. #blacklivesmatter
