Lisa Ray Instagram – There are people in my life who are experiencing heightened levels of stress, fear and anxiety these days. I’ve bought copies of #thewisdomofanxiety to help them through this time. It also seems to be a collective experience, perhaps all those submerged parts of ourselves rushing to the surface in this time of uncertainty. What happens if we shift from a mindset of blame which sees anxiety as evidence of brokenness to recognising it as a signal – a clear bodily invitation to heal and renew your trust in your choices, self-image and core values? That’s what this book by Sheryl Paul does. I’ve wrestled with my own feelings of worthlessness and found ways to reframe anxiety and fear and stress- to invite them to my table for tea. That’s the result of years of introspection and self-development work which is not always pleasant but which has equipped me with the ability to sit with discomfort. Which means of course- the game is not about banishing those thoughts, or escape- hatching your life but embracing the fullness and wonder of a beautifully broken human experience.
