We had big dreams and small budgets. After it collapsed, and on the verge of depression, we said, let’s ditch the big effort and make something really small, stupid and funny with no planning. We went out to Kodambakkam, rented some wigs and this was the result. Before people compared lions and other animals to heroes, before #TamilPadam, before #Lollusabha, there was Engal Aatha. A spoof of the cliches and melodrama we loved. . . . ‘Police’ Parindaman & ‘Palukuthi’ Paramashivam hate each other’s guts. A policeman and rowdy from opposite sides clash in this loving adaptation of 70’s & 80’sfilms.
