![Zazie Beetz Instagram – And for episode three of Zazie Talks Climate, we are talking with Patrick Houston! This time we are focusing on HOW to engage in local politics. Not knowing who to call or what to say always stopped me in the past from actually doing anything- itโs simpler than youโd think! Patrick works for New York Communities for Change (NYCC): an organization that fights for racial and economic climate justice in the greater New York area. Their focus is to empower low income or underrepresented communities while challenging the corporate powers that loom over the city. This week, we will be donating to NYCC ๐งก๐
A couple of details to keep in mind:
ใฐ๏ธ You can find your NYC local council person at council.nyc.gov/districts (I know, I know, links donโt work in the captions). Alternately, say you are from ANYWHERE else in the United States (as Iโm sure most of you are- we wonโt talk about New York again! I know itโs a big azz world), just type into your search engine โmy [insert city or town] council memberโ, and info should readily pop up!
