Regina Hall Instagram – Today, MY #WCW is Daphne Frias (@frias_daphne), a 22-year-old self-proclaimed #ClimateWarrior & gun violence prevention #activist from #WestHarlem, New York. Her passion for helping communities achieve #SocialJustice is rooted in personal experience. Daphne lives with #CerebralPalsy, and describes growing up in a world in which society fails to create spaces for the #DifferentlyAbled to succeed, hold positions of leadership, and thrive in general. First inspired by Florida’s Parkland shooting to get engaged in activism, she arranged busing for more than 100 students from campus to a nearby @MarchForOurLives event, and has since become the New York State Director for March for Our Lives. Also an active advocate for #climatejustice, Daphne is using her voice to educate people on the implications this has for those who are differently-abled. Daphne is a nationally acclaimed activist, a delegate at the @UnitedNations Youth Climate Summit, founder of @BoxTheBallot, and she just began med school.
