Until we reach 70% herd immunity, social distancing and masking measures will need to continue, though likely not to the same degree we’re seeing now. 2. The vaccines will protect against symptomatic COVID-19. What we don’t know is if vaccinated people could spread it asymptomatically to those without immunity. 3. The key issue is that if people are vaccinated, and they can still spread it, then that’s a risk to the people who aren’t vaccinated 4. But the end is in sight.
