Lisa Ray Instagram – I’ve been a long time admirer of your oeuvre @_gauri_gill_ even more so after this affecting series.

In the next weeks I will be sharing details drawn out of the seven works from Fields of Sight that Rajeshji and I spent most of 2019 working on. Five works are currently on view as part of Contemporary Excavations in London, at Frith Street Gallery. Sadly, London has been locked down through most of the exhibition so far. The first work, A Seed’s Journey, now belongs to the Berkeley Art Museum (BAMPFA). It is about the long journey made by a seed from its’ first home in the fields where it is tended to by the kisans or farmers with such close attention and care, onto local godowns, mandis, food processing plants, supermarkets and fancy urban kitchens. It concerns the invaluable labor of peasants, and the interdependence of human existence. In solidarity with the farmers currently laying siege at Delhi’s borders, from Punjab as well as Maharashtra, near Rajeshji’s home. | Posted on 10/Jan/2021 13:36:44
