Aaron Dessner Instagram – We were honored when @sharonvanhalen asked @bigredmachineadjv to cover a song for the 10th anniversary of Epic. I love every album she’s made but Epic is special because it was the one she was making when we first met. @blobtower and I covered her song “Love More” with my brother @brycedessner at Music Now in 2010… an experience which led to meeting Sharon soon after and recording her next album “Tramp” together in my garage in Brooklyn (the first album I produced for someone else!). Over the years, we have often toured together and collaborated in many ways. So recording “A Crime” with Justin felt like coming full circle and was a giant catharsis for us… I nearly broke the studio monitors blasting this song over and over. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do (and then go listen to all Sharon’s songs over and over).
