Eternally grateful for growing up with immensely loving, powerful, nurturing, compassionate energies around me who make my every normal day feel like women’s day! But this is only possible because one MAN in our house, my father, who is more nurturing than any woman I know!!
Dad I know you said -“We don’t need “a day” to celebrate women who are way superior than men, when we can do it everyday!” You rightfully took care of mom and all your 4 daughters under the same roof for years and even now setting the standard very high!! You are inspiring so many fathers to raise their daughters like you did!
But I promise, I’ll uplift and uprise every female in my capacity until we’d not have the need to have a separate day for women as we don’t have a Happy Men Day!

Hariyali Teej is a gateway to all festivals that is why we welcome, worship and celebrate daughters and sisters first(lord Parvati), in this festival girls play on swings that are set up under trees or open courtyards. During Teej, family members give gifts, typically new clothes and accessories, to girls and women. Boys fly kites. Family eats choorma, and sweets together especially ghevar.

Intriguing things my Mom does during Shraads, one of which is feeding crows. “Crows are the messengers of our ancestors”,she says, “other things we must do is give water to Peepul tree 🌳 and feed cows.🐮” Although I never interrupted her optimistic and non-questionable ways of celebrating each day according to the Hindu calendar but being the curious case that I am, I understood that it is more environmental-inclusion way of living, she says- “hum sab mil kar prithvi ka dhyaan rakh sakte hain, bezubaan pashu pakshiyon ka bhi dhyaan rakhlenge aur purvajon ko yaad karke khaatein hain, toh unki blessings toh zaroor lagti hongi.”
I always stayed in a hostel and then in different cities so never got to connect with mom so beautifully before this lockdown. More than finding fun in acting like her, I feel so blessed so have such an optimistic and innocent Maa🌷
