Sarah Rafferty Instagram – In the past few days alone, India has seen over 300,000 new infections and more than 2,500 COVID-19-related deaths, setting global records as one of the most pandemic-plagued countries around the world. Plan International @planinternational is addressing the needs of vulnerable children and their families during this difficult time by providing hygiene items, food aid, cash support, personal protective equipment (PPE) for health workers, medical equipment for health centres and raising awareness for COVID-19 prevention and vaccines. Donations will: Empower health workers to meet supply shortages with PPE (N-95 masks, gloves, body coveralls, etc.) and vital equipment. Set-up temporary COVID-19 care centres in hotspot areas, servicing poor and vulnerable communities across 20 districts. Distribute hygiene kits filled with vital sanitation supplies. Reach hard-hit families with food baskets, sharing essential nutrition. Provide families with vouchers to support livelihoods through lockdowns.
