It’s a departure for me, not my usual fiction or memoir, it’s history that reads like true crime, which makes it fascinating but wholly heart-breaking. As someone who will proudly celebrate my Irish roots tomorrow, I’m grateful that this deep dive into the history of “The Troubles” is such an accessible and captivating read, yet pained, of course, that these stories are true.
