Christina Chang Instagram – This is as close as I could get to Mom today. I’ve got 5 more days left before heading back to Canada where we will be separated by an international border restricting us from seeing one another until May. I am beyond sad to have to say goodbye to her. And yet, my story is nothing compared to the countless heartbreaking ones of families torn apart by this pandemic. I am daily grateful to the frontline healthcare workers who work TIRELESSLY, many shifts back to back, often without the ability to see their own families. They are depleted. They are traumatized. Gone are the 7pm shift change songs of support and applause, replaced by quarantine fatigue by many civilians. These frontline workers who put their lives on the line taking care of our loved ones don’t need our pity though, they need us to do our part in this global disaster. Please stay at home if you can. Please wear a mask. Please stay socially distanced.
