Lakshmy Ramakrishnan Instagram – June 30th- today is my Mom & Dad’s wedding Anniversary 😍 We celebrated their 50th wedding Anniversary when Parents, Akka and Anna were with us!! It was the most surreal moment ❤️ I learnt about equality, companionship, togetherness , trust and commitment from them:) Though Appa had very short temper, Amma had a beautiful understanding about why he was that way, she balanced it out . She embraced his family and he embraced hers, there was mutual respect ( it was something deep down, which was not exhibited outwardly ) When Amma passed away they had lived together for 62 years, through thick and thin. When we talk about marriage , trust and commitment between life partners , it is misunderstood, considered not to be cool, we are blamed to be glorifying and romanticising marriages which are not worth the trouble!! So , I had to think 100 times before putting up this post!!! But, staying in a relationship is worth only if there is no abuse, mistrust or disrespect, otherwise putting up with something that is abusive is not worth for even a single day, not for the sake of family, children or society! I have heard the interviews #VanithaVijaykumar had given about her own mother, sisters and parents!!! No wonder she belittled my 37 years of relationship with my husband and insulted a gentleman like Dr Ramakrishnan. To understand the essence of marriage/ relationship , to understand #commitment, #trust and #dignity, is beyond the capacity of some people. It was my mistake agreeing to talk to her, without considering the baggage she was coming with!! Anyways, it was written that my husband and I had to be verbally abused by someone like her and we offered an opportunity to rejoice for the less than 2% of Tamils who hated me for the tag of ‘IYER’ I am supposed to have been born with. It was great eye opener and but I truly believe in the Universal law of Justice and am waiting for the magic to unfold 🙏 #Respect #marriage #companionship #lifepartner #equality #dignity
