It’s strange how sometimes it feels like time is standing still and moving so fast at the same time. I don’t know if this sounds random but that’s been a very common feeling for me over the last several months. All of last year has been overwhelming to say the least. I know I have been MIA for a minute, but some much needed tlc was in order. 🙂 I’m figuring things out one step at a time and learning new things everyday. To all of you humans who have reached out and checked in on me, sent thoughtful emails, dms, love and good vibes, shared songs I’ve sung and posted kind words and messages of your love and appreciation – You have no idea how much this means to me – thank you ♥️
Long story short – I have been working on a bunch of things – some totally new and some are things that I’ve been wanting to do for a long long time now. I’ve been working on some new music that I hope to share soon enough and some covers that have been on my wish list for quite some time. I grew up in Kerala and I fell in love with this song the very first time I heard it on TV. I used to wait eagerly for the next time I would get to see the video starring Manju Warrier (one of my most favourite actors) and hear this magical song. It has given me so much joy working on this special cover with some dear friends and gifted artists @tobsgarage who has arranged and performed guitars, mixed and mastered the audio, @davidweston who has captured the video; and @gershomkeys @biggmedia.co who has worked on the edit and DI of the video.
Big love and respect to Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri master for giving us such a timeless classic – for composing the gorgeous melody and penning lyrics and crafting a song that beautifully embodies the tenderness and vulnerability of a longing heart. Love and respect to the vocalist – Bhavana Radhakrishnan who’s voice and original rendition in the Malayalam Film Kaliyattom has inspired me to sing this song countless times.
