Cherry Valentine Instagram – Inspired by a combination of some of Nina Ricci & Thierry Mugler’s work from their Haute Couture Fall/Wint 1998 collection, along with some design adaptations. This look represents the beauty ideal, an exaggeration of my own femininity. The sculpted hair, focus on the body with the front plate encrusted in stoning, the accentuation of the hips, the waist, the aura of power that comes with what that means.
The black and white background for this scene was chosen because we’ve been taught to think in black and white, though the world is way more colourful than we can ever imagine. I chose to sit at a vanity table for this scene, because I wanted to have a physical representation of vanity, then grab a sledgehammer and smash it up. We are more than what a society of constriction tells us, there are no rules, smash them up!
