Brittany’s Story- Touching on the realities of racism and antisemitism, @brittanypanzer shares her experience that we could all learn a lot from. It’s a funny thing being mixed race. I’m half white Jewish and half black, and I feel connected heavily to both sides as I grew up with a lot of Jewish culture around me, and in the more recent years have had the privilege of connecting with and experiencing more black culture. Both sides have been through hell, persecution, and genocide, yet I experience bigotry from both sides… two groups of people who from my perspective, have a lot in common. I’ve experienced a lot of antisemitism from black people, and a lot of racism from Jews. These two groups both desire to be accepted, so it’s surprising to see any person belonging to a minority group not being accepting of others. Regardless, I am so proud to be a mixture of the two, and to be able to speak out on behalf of both my Jewish and my Black half. There’s a lot more in common than meets the eye.
