Jankee Parekh Instagram – This photograph was taken just 15 days after Sufi was born. Seems like yesterday, when I got him home. And now my little bub is not so little anymore. He is soon going to turn 6 months old & I still recollect him being such a teeny weeny fellow, so light to lift that I would always be extra careful not to hurt him in anyway. And today he has so much strength in his tiny hands & legs that he just can’t be in one place anymore. Since the time his motor skills have developed, all he does all day every day is be on his tummy and keeps turning round and round and round. There are times when I feel dizzy just looking at him but he doesn’t stop. He is always so excited about touching and feeling things. His beautiful curious eyes want to know everything that’s happening around him. His own sneeze makes him giggle and just one tickle on his nose & a tongue out makes him he breaks into a laughter. It doesn’t take too much to bring a smile on his face. Happiness for him is sitting by the window on his bouncer and staring at the trees and the birds for hours. Sometimes he makes me wonder, ‘how did I manage to lose this enthusiasm & inquisitiveness whilst growing up and how amazing would be it be to have the same child like excitement, curiousity every single day of our lives? Thank you Sufi for teaching me how to find happiness in the smallest of things.
