Cecily Strong Instagram – Very very very lucky and grateful to get to work with these brilliant wonderful people. Thank you to the Academy for all these wonderful nominations. Including AIDY AND KENAN GETTING DOUBLE NOMINATIONS WHOAH WHOAH WHOAH EXCUSE ME?!?! BOWEN MAKING HISTORY (as uszh) AS THE FIRST FEATURED PLAYER TO BE NOMINATED. YES ICEBERG!!! KATE GETTING NOMINATED FOR HER SEVENTH YEAR IN A ROW I THINK WHICH IS LIKE- HAS ANYONE EVER DONE THAT?!? QUERN!!!! I loved being with these people for so many years, but last year especially. Watching Heidi and Ego truly dominate the writers table every week and write and perform some of the greatest bits on snl! Watching Andrew, Lauren, and Punkie figure out a very confusing job during a very confusing time. Standing with my friends at that last show in front of an audience who came in and stood up for the entire beginning because they knew how much it meant to have an audience and so they said “well we will be the best audience you’ve ever seen in your whole life”. Laughing in the hallway with Beck and Kyle and Fran after the show and maybe that was secretly my favorite part of the week because holy shit they are so funny. The best after party when you can’t have an after party. Watching Chris and Pete make some of the greatest music videos we’ve ever done, somehow! Watching Alex effortlessly slide into playing Biden like it wasn’t such a huge fucking undertaking and under the biggest microscope. Having a coworker like Mikey Day, one of the most prolific and funniest writers and performers on the show ever, who also lets you fully crash into him and roll over his body in a deflating rubber ball. Watching Chloe kill her first big cold open and then doing it again a couple weeks later! Getting to play at an update desk with two old pals who’ve made that desk somehow the most joyful playhouse in the building. And of course, getting to hear Melissa sing Dolly and share her big heart and big smile and big fake titties with the world. Last year was a freaking honor, truly. ❤️❤️❤️
Cecily Strong Instagram – What a year it’s been and birthdays are even more “whatever” than normal right now but they also feel pretty lucky to have, right? This morning I woke up to these big birds in my yard and laughed that the turkeys came to say hello. But then I saw the crest on the heads and kept googling to find out what turkeys have balls on their heads at 8am while sleepy in bed so there’s that image for you. After an extensive 15 minutes of half asleep internet “research”, I’m pretty sure these are peacocks. Kevin took a photo of the prints in the snow and we are even more convinced now. I’ve never seen them before outside of a zoo and I’m pretty sure they aren’t supposed to live here. I texted Leda and she said “if that ain’t a birthday gift I don’t know what is… of course O’s love language is birds on your birthday”. Then she sent me a picture of us on one of the last nights out in New York, the day the world lost Kobe and he was honored by the players and fans during the Knicks game that night at MSG. It was not the easiest for either of us that night but definitely not for my little Leda, who wasn’t sure if she was ready to head to our seats for the tribute (also thank you to MSG for those seats!!!) But she did and we hugged and cried and what a gift to be able to hug each other and not worry about being the only people standing at that particular moment the photo was taken. And you can’t fall when you are flanked by two wonderful people- sweet Petey D and Leda’s amazing friend Rachel @k0kestagram That’s a great gift any day, but I’ll take it even more today on this day that I’m lucky to get 💙💙💙 ***also if anyone knows if there’s a good animal control that I should be calling, let me know. It’s not at all the point of what I’m sharing but I am pretty sure these birds need to be somewhere warm for winter
