I’ve seen this artwork used in the context of ‘mermerosity’—“the anticipatory state of being worried about the possible passing of the familiar and its replacement by that which does not sit comfortably in one’s sense of place.” It’s one of the many words coined by philosopher Glenn A. Albrecht in ‘Earth Emotions: New Words for a New World’ (2019).
