Isabelle Cornish Instagram – It’s quite easy to be mindful cool and calm when life is smooth. But it’s also ok to be emotional, unbalanced and struggling when things aren’t easy. Yoga, mindfulness, meditation all these practices help us to have a choice in our reactions to things that happen in our lives. However, it’s also important to speak about how it’s ok to fall, mess up, get triggered and react. The more we try to push away the aggravation of our feelings the more they can simmer under the surface. I’m a strong person, and for many years I’ve stayed cool as a cucumber. But a few times in the past few weeks I stopped smoothing things over and reacted. At first, I was a little angry at myself for letting my ‘mindful mindset’ fall to the ground. However days later and I feel lighter. It’s important to remember that we don’t always have to be strong. We don’t need to pretend everything is fine when things are falling. We can let ourselves off the hook, for that moment, those minutes or those hours. Then we pick ourselves up with compassion and kindness and once again work toward becoming a better version of ourselves. Smile and be grateful.
