We grow up with the promise, illusory though it may be, of an ideal society. We come into adulthood and we understand the impracticability of that vision….yet we still cling to the promise; a part of us never stops hoping…It’s hard to eradicate the vision of a better world once it inhabits your dreams.” Excerpt from the haunting, ‘Better to Have Gone’ by #AkashKapur

Lisa Ray Instagram – #VivekShanbhag has been described as the Indian Chekhov. I’m not sure why this description bothers me. I know he’s a wondrous talent. We don’t need to compare him to a dead Russian writer.
Owning India’s contemporary literary legacy as well as highlighting its rich legacy is a far more interesting endeavour. The problem is it takes effort and invites nuance as well as an impulse to step outside the coded discussions of literary establishment.

Or maybe I suffer from PTSD of playing Masha in drama school one too many times.

Anyhow I’ll let you know once I’m done.
Lisa Ray Instagram – The sweetness and rightness of locating oneself, of orienting oneself to what’s true and important is captured for me, in the essence of @pahadilocal (Yes, I’m in Mumbai and yes, I’m a mountain girl at heart)
Sure it’s a fine, homegrown ethical brand, founded by a fine woman (@jj_jessicajayne) but @pahadilocal symbolizes more.
The return to natural wisdom, an empathetic heart and a determination to embody the qualities of Mountain dwelling : fresh skin, free hearts and inhabiting a world apart and above petty cares.
Congrats my dearest @jj_jessicajayne on the collaborations with @the_ayu and @bombayperfumery and for completing FIVE years of trekking the winding paths of entrepreneurship 💐
I tried to make a video and kept dropping the pine cone (scroll through) so the next Gen showed me how it’s done
