Jankee Parekh Instagram – Through our month long stay in Goa last year (Sept. 2020) I remember only taking photographs chest up as I was 5 months pregnant and we had still not announced it. I remember getting so annoyed with Nakuul because I would never be able to share any of the pictures I had taken simply because of my bump showing. Then one day, whilst we were day-tripping in Dewar island, I told Nakuul, ‘Enough is enough, it’s time we just put it out that we are expecting’. And to my surprise, he was like ‘Cool, let’s do it.’ He stopped the car in the middle of nowhere, got the tripod out of the car, took me right in the middle of these gorgeous fields, put the camera on timer and asked me to pose… And I was like ‘Wait, what am I suppose to do?’ He asked me to just hold my belly. And just like that we got the photo to announce our pregnancy. It’s only when we got back to our villa, I realised that my chipped nail paint looked horrible in the photograph and I canned the idea of announcing my pregnancy that day. All of next day Nakuul and I went looking for a nail paint remover from one pharmacy to the other, until we finally found one. So that’s the story behind why we didn’t go with the “Holding Belly in the Green Fields with the messed up Nails” photo… Sounds a little lame right now, but my pregnancy hormones dint make me feel that way… Now that I have a child, it’s made me realise that chipped nail paint is the most non existential crisis one can even imagine amidst a plethora of real ones… Did any of you ever go through such frivolous drama while being preggers and your partner played along? #motherhood #firsttimemom #pregnancydays #goadiaries #babymoon
Jankee Parekh Instagram – Everyone always used to say that “They grow up so fast”…These photos are from 3 months back when @babysufim would stay cradled in my arms for hours together. I could smell his head, feel his hands, hear him make whispering sounds, so closely. Now that seems like quite a task… I just sat in my room this morning, saw him crawl away from me, hold onto a table and try to pull himself up. He almost stood, then sat down and crawled away, out of the room. Didn’t even turn back to look at me… 😔 I should start preparing myself for the fact that he will start running soon and will be hard to hold onto. Okay. .
