Jack Duarte Instagram – Aren’t words a crazy thing? We cling to pronouncing them like totems that drive spirits away… or ornaments that attract, when their power resides not in that, rather in feeling the meaning invested in them. Thankful, full of… thank. And suddenly that word sounds so bizarre that it becomes meaningless. We really do become semantically satiated through repeating meaningless verbal carcasses: Thankful; full of thank… right. I’m comfortably full of t’anks in a world when I repeat words that coat me into social stupor.
But by daring to be wrong, by risking not being right and risking to step out of my comfort zone, conniving and loving, I feel and therefore I live.
If I think (and therefore I am), maybe at some point I forgot that in order to think, I must feel and in order to feel, I must risk —not knowing, daring and then living—.
Thankful: from the PIE root: *tong- to feel, to think… I’m thankful when I dare and through daring I am full of thought.
The difference in thanks and tanks is in feeling and recognizing Unity. Maybe we can learn a little from our ancestors and therefore fill our world with less tanks.
