Evelyn Edwards Instagram – I will forever be entranced by nature. Hiking The Storr on the Isle of Skye in Scotland made my imagination go wild. When I go to epic landscapes like this I completely understand why we make myths and legends to help wrap our brain around the sheer awesomeness in front of us. Many of the legends on the Isle of Skye have to do with giants, fairies, brownies, Selkies (a creature that changes from seal to human, and the odd dragon thrown in for good measure. One popular legend is that this outcropping of rocks was formed when a giant died on this very spot and his thumb is one of the pointy rocks. The best part about this legend is it’s also believed that this legend morphed into ta kinder, more child friendly version of the story when it was written down…. And that the pointed rock is really the giant’s “you-know-what”. Some say that people went here to worship the stones in connection with fertility. 💚⛰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 *
