HOORAY FOR BOOBIES! and HOORAY FOR MAMAS WITHOUT TATAS! Before we say goodnight to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to share a discovery I made while searching for a formula that we will be feeding Baby Degnan, who is due next month. @Bobbie! I had a bilateral mastectomy in 2017, making breastfeeding impossible for me. Now that we have our first child on the way, via surrogate (another part of the motherhood experience that cancer denied me), we spent a lot of time learning about the wide world of formula. Bobbie is the first and only infant formula that passes the rigorous FDA standards for infant formula in the US, but also meets the incredibly high (and very different) standards for European formula. That means more good stuff (liKe DHA) and less or no bad stuff (like high fructose corn syrup). Bonus – it’s priced the same as other US formulas so it’s a lot more affordable than buying European formula if you live in the US. Also, did you know that it’s illegal to sell European formula in the US? That’s why you can’t buy directly from them. It’s all sold through 3rd parties who don’t have to disclose their storage information or how long that formula has been sitting in a warehouse… sketchy. 🤨 So check out Bobbie and let me know in the comments section below how it’s worked for you. I haven’t spoken to a single person in our industry who hasn’t been shocked, saddened, angered and outspoken about the tragic and preventable loss of @HalynaHutchins. My heart goes out to her family, her loved ones and to her colleagues who knew and loved her. While her family mourns, I hope that this tragedy serves as the spark that ignites a fire. I hope that this fire shines a light on the mistreatment of film/tv crew, the inhumane hours that these professionals are expected to work, the pittance that many of these positions, especially entry level, are paid. Moonstruck Doubt The Dreamer Examines His Pillow Four Dogs & A Bone Women of Manhattan These are just a few of my favorite stories from the magical mind of John Patrick Shanley, that handsome devil sandwiched between me and @iamscottiet from our LA date yesterday. For years, I would memorize and dissect monologues from his plays and silently mouth his dialogue spoken by other actresses in my classes. I wanted to breathe life into one of Shanley’s deliciously flawed heroines. A few weeks ago, a bomb dropped on my career that plummeted me into despair, disappointment and grief. In the wake of that grief came a call from my witchy sister Scottie that pulled me from the rubble & reignited my creative spirit. For everyone fortunate enough to get a ticket to tonight’s performance of John Patrick Shanley’s new play, “Drop Off,” I’m thrilled for you. I wish I could read it again for the first time and go on this roller coaster of a ride with you through your eyes and ears tonight! I can’t wait to share this story with you and I’m honored to be a part of it. I’m grateful to Scottie for being such a generous actress that she always thinks of others to elevate around her. I’m grateful to @for_the_actor for casting me and for her seemingly effortless direction (that I know is a lot of hard work!). I’m grateful to Scottie, @therealdavecoleman & @robyncohenactingstudio for their beautifully tragic and tragically beautiful portrayals of the rest of our family. And I’m grateful to @johnp.shanley for writing Susie, for having me on board and for generously sharing so much of himself and his supremely delightful wit during our time together. ❤️

I love @catconworldwide for inviting me to the opening night reception of “Cat Art Show 4: A New Beginning,” featuring the works of 70 artists from 16 countries. The pieces range from whimsical to nostalgic and include sculpture as well. Original works are for sale, as are some smaller take home items like the print I posted on my stories – a gift for a special friend. 😻 The show runs from Oct 14-24 and is another great reason to visit Chinatown in DTLA. It makes me smile to think of what I’ll say to my little one next year on #NationalDaughterDay or #NationalSonDay. If we weren’t waiting until Baby Degnan’s Birth Day for the sex, I’d have posted some gushy, romantic ode to my soon to be born child today or yesterday. In lieu of that, here’s a pic of my firstborn, Frankie “Asshole Cat,” shedding all over Baby Degnan’s things. He has found every changing station, sleeping station and pile of clothes in the house and claimed it as his own. Baby Degnan is going to have to learn how to Alpha real quick amongst this bunch!
