On a personal note, we didn’t make it to the movies last weekend when it opened because we were surprised by an early debut of our own… Thomas Francis Degnan IV, “Tommy,” was born on Tuesday, Nov 16 in Boise, Idaho. Despite coming a few weeks early, he is healthy and thriving. Mom, Dad and Tommy are now home in LA getting to know one another. Our beloved surrogate and new extended family member is celebrating with her family in Boise and is doing beautifully. I was told “babies arrive with a loaf of bread in their arms,” so it was not totally surprising when this wonderful blessing of work came along this week. Thanks Baby Tommy and thanks @kritzerlucy casting for the opportunity to work on @therookieabc this week! Believe all the rumors about how lovely @nathanfillion is. I’ve also been blessed to work alongside @meertastic @mekiacox @flula @iamlaurenshaw with Fernando Sarinana’s directing of @nataliecallaghan’s writing. I can’t wait for you to meet this character – she’s AWESOME 😎 (sorry, no spoilers!). The episode will air Feb 27. It’s been a joy to be back on set with such a fun and professional group of people. Think this is scary? Not as scary as facing a life or death situation where every minute counts and not knowing CPR. My mom, a retired RN, encouraged Tom and me to take a pediatric CPR class this week. Thankfully @PumpStation in Santa Monica was offering classes with the Program Director of SaveALittleLife.com, Richard Pass, RN. While some of the stats scared the bejezuz out of me, knowing how to perform CPR safely on an infant, child and adult as well as the Heimlich Maneuver and how to identify possible safety issues in advance left both of us feeling a bit more empowered in the case of our child choking, drowning, etc. We plan to take the course annually, every January, and we hope that you’ll join us by finding a CPR workshop near you. Of course, we hope that we never have to use this training on anyone in our lives. But if we do, we know we’ll have this knowledge in our back pocket to guide the way.
