Remember the viral video of the little girl in Ukraine singing “Let It Go” in a bomb shelter? Seven year old Amelia Anisovych is now safely in Poland after fleeing Ukraine with her grandmother and siblings, and last night, she sang the Ukrainian national anthem in front of thousands of people at a special charity concert. A bright light in a devastatingly dark time. 💛💙

BE THE LEADER OF PEACE

(Reposting with captions)

In an address to Congress Wednesday morning, Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy appealed to the US to do more. He asked lawmakers to help Ukrainians establish a no fly zone by sending the aircraft to do it.  “Russia has turned the Ukrainian sky into a source of death, for thousands of people. I need to protect our sky. I need your help,” he said. “ Aircraft that can help Ukraine, help Europe, you know that they exist, and you have them. But they are on Earth, not in Ukrainian sky. They do not defend our people.”

He recalled moments the US was attacked— Pearl Harbor and 9/11 — and drew on American idealism – the greatness of Mt Rushmore, the call to justice of the I Have a Dream Speech – to rouse the spirit of members of Congress to provide more support for his people as they try to rebuff the invading Russian Army.

His speech ended with a direct appeal to President Biden, in English, which you see in this video.
