“This song began on 26 June 2018, barrio Salamanca, Madrid .
My parents were on my mind. Their words of advice coming back to me: „Mama told me you don’t need it all, just a few small things and a lot of love Daddy told me, try to keep it simple”
These wise words were resonating with me in full force, I hadn’t heeded them and yet, in my heart, it was so simple – just music and kids – nothing more. They say in life do what you know. This I believe in. When the storms of change come, you must keep up the masquerade. Daily, I found myself putting on a mask, almost like an actor walking onstage. On the side lines you are vulnerable waiting for your curtain call. When the curtain rises, you take your place and you become your own masquerade. When I actually walk on stage I am the truest expression of myself: In flow and beyond happy. As I wrote it I kept seeing images of Toulouse-Lautrec’s paintings, stage girls in bloomers and French carousels.
