“Under a daylight moon.
Finally living in my beautiful Madrid, I got out of bed on the 25 March 2019 walked to the piano and wrote this song in three hours.
I had been hiding under my blue duvet covers almost afraid to face the world yet another day but this hypnotic motif was running in my head constantly, calling me.
The moon has fascinated me all my life, I am drawn to it and the daylight moon is like and everyday miracle. The day before I strolled through the Retiro Park, little armies of daises and daffodils everywhere, such beauty, their delicacy in numbers was their strength. I suppose, I related to them. Daffodils being my mum’s favourite flower and daisies mine. To be vulnerable is to be brave – this I relied upon. I wanted a fairytale – someone to take my little girl hand and walk me under a daylight moon. To feel safe. If we separate ourselves from nature, we don’t see that we are a part of it.
