Much of what is wrong in the world is built on white supremacy, racism and discrimination.
Climate change is inherently racist. People of color around the globe are facing the hardest consequences of the climate crisis while they are generally least responsible.
It’s the Western system based on white supremacy that has caused the overexploitation of natural resources and humans on this planet, responsible for over 90% of excess global emissions.
To change this we need to acknowledge what climate justice really means. centering the voices of indigenous people and people of color as they are pioneering in the fight against climate change.
We need to acknowledge the racial violence of climate change and how institutionalized racism is one of the roots of the system that is burning the planet.
