Christy Turlington Instagram – Motherhood is an identity, a calling, a battle, a journey. Along with my friend, @amyschumer I am honored to have collected essays from some amazing women—actors, athletes, academics, writers, small business owners, birth workers, physicians, and activists—who tell their stories of becoming mothers in this book, Arrival Stories, which is on sale today. By sharing our stories, we forge a path toward more open and honest communication about the experience of becoming a mother. The essays the contributors have written are incredible: deeply moving, inspiring, and necessary. We hope this collection will not only offer a true, wide-ranging look at what women feel when they become mothers, but that it will also raise awareness about the grave injustices women of color face in maternal healthcare, and help to support @everymomcounts, which works to make pregnancy and childbirth safe, respectful, and equitable for every mother, everywhere.
