George Harrison Instagram – The earliest written and recorded examples of ‘Art of Dying’ in George’s archive date back to 1966. The final released version on All Things Must Pass was recorded on July 1, 1970. “It was done in a live way. I routined the songs with the band until we had everything worked out. We had maybe four acoustic guitars, two electric guitars, a bass, two drummers, there was even like marimbas, a couple of shakers, tambourines and two pianos – or pedal harmonium and pianos. So all this stuff, some of it was being mixed: the piano and the harmonium were sometimes mixed together, all the guitars were together, because we only had eight tracks.
