Michelle Dewberry Instagram – And just like that, our little, much loved peanut head turned ‘1’. 👶🏻❤️☺️. He’s a beautiful, fun baby and the most inquisitive/curious little boy I’ve ever met. Nothing (and I mean nothing!) gets past him without a thorough investigation first 🤣

In my head, he’s not really 1 tho. He was born over 2 months prematurely so saying he’s one almost makes me feel a bit cheated out of his first year. So yes, he’s 1 on paper, but 10months old to us. (Once he gets past his first year from his due date, I guess it matters less but for now, to me, he’s 10 months). Any other preemie parents know what I mean?

For his birthday, we kept things simple – I don’t like to spoil my son so we didn’t get him a single gift (poor kid 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️) and we kept things simple again with a gathering of friends at a local pub. It was so lovely to see everyone and bubba did get lots of lovely, kind gifts from friends and family (which I didn’t let him open all on one day but instead spread out over a week! 🤣🤣). I was touched by the effort people made ❤️

I was gonna do a nice 1st birthday pic Instagram style, but being honest – I couldn’t be bothered 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ so here we are blowing out the cake candle and with a very untidy, birthday corner.

I like to keep my bubba private but I share, as always, to give encouragement and hope to anyone who is currently experiencing PPROM or NICU to try and show you that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Stay strong, you got this xx
