Chinmayi Instagram – Just a thing here – someone who is a psychiatrist doesn’t mean they ll be non-toxic or non-patriarchal. Education doesn’t change the inbred gender roles that many are raised by. Which is why choosing your counsellor is extremely important. I have known one thing – if a doc name-drops about who comes to them and describes their illness to you – kindly avoid them. Discussing a case for awareness without revealing IDs is different from naming who the patient is and what was done to them. I don’t know how many know this – One Dr Aravindha Raj came on @clubhouse and harassed the hell out of me saying he is going to reveal my medical records (which he had no access to). Thing is he was piss drunk. I made a video on it which is on my Youtube Channel. The next day some dipshit seems to have given this random abusive stranger my number and my mother’s number and he called and yelled that I better accept his apology. The whined and cried about how I am taking ‘revenge’ on him. Such people being in the med profession are like a stain. It’s sad but like in every profession there are blots that shake trust. Gynaecs that body shame women, psychiatrists that are patriarchal- nothing is new in this country.
