Ashna Zaveri Instagram – I have been on this journey for way too long now and too be honest I have believed each of these to be true in my early days.

Along the journey I tried and tested many diets , crash dieting , doing crazy amount of cardio to lose weight fast , restricting carbs and fats completely since they were “the bad guys” , the idea that weight training and protein shakes were for body builders – so hell no to them !

However all these things did work – in making me look skinny , scrawny , low in energy , moody , losing my charm.This was obviously not my goal !

Along the way I studied and trained under some great teachers , the focus is to have a healthy body that can last long enough as opposed to taking shorts cuts to achieve shorts term goals.

•Overdoing cardio makes you lose all the muscle mass , and the irony is in order to keep up with regular intense cardio you need to build those muscles.

•Eliminating carbs makes us moody and irritable. Carbs are important for muscle building because they’re protein sparing, which means the body looks to glycogen for energy instead of breaking down muscle tissue for energy. Consuming carbs post-workout can prevent muscle loss and help repair muscles.

•Good Fats are essential for proper functioning of our internal system , vitamin A, D E, K are fat soluble vitamins i.e we need good fats to absorb these vitamins.

•Weight training can support weight loss by burning calories during and after workouts and by preserving muscle mass to prevent your metabolism from slowing down.
