“Yesterday my darling friend was laboring all day to bring in her second baby. All day I was so….. jealous. The portal that is birth is the most profound teaching I have ever received, and I wish every day I could do it again and again and again. To the female body: to those who can grow and expand in order to contain more, to those who sweat and bleed and cry out, only to crack open to welcome new life, to those who dance in the alchemy of science, nature, God, and death, to those who have closed again like a flower, to heal and return to the self, to those who feel at odds with their own fertility, who struggle through disappointment when they know in their guts they were made to do this: I bow to you. I celebrate you. The moment you realize how powerful we are is the moment you understand why they’ve told us otherwise for so long. 🌍 🌺
