Hannah Fry Instagram – In Jan 2021, while having treatment for cervical cancer, I started filming myself. It started as a way to make sense of what was happening to me, but once I got out the other side, I realised there was a much bigger story, about how we approach cancer treatment in this country and whether weāre always getting the balance of risks right. I spent last year with @curiousfilms1 making a full film, probably the most important one Iāll ever be part of. Itās out on the 2nd June on BBC2 and thereās a piece about it in todayās Telegraph magazine.
I know that cancer has been on everyoneās minds a lot in the last week, with the incredible story of Dame Deborah James. I hope the film helps to give another, empowering perspective on how we approach this devastating disease, and the tough questions we have to ask ourselves when weāre faced with a diagnosis.
