Utah! Please stop gas chamber euthanasia! Use your voice!

“In my beautiful home state of Utah, I am saddened that animal rights regarding euthanasia are still lacking. It is one of the only three states that still use gas chambers to euthanize animals in our shelter system. This practice is cruel and inhumane and should NEVER be used to end any animal’s life. The only humane way to euthanize an animal is through euthanasia by injection.
Last week, the bill to ban the use of gas chambers in Utah, Senate Bill 69, passed unanimously in the senate and moved on to the house committee. Testimony was given by @humanesociety, @nuzzlesandco and @saltlakecountyanimalservices on why the use of gas chambers should be banned. The house committee decided to hold the bill because of opposition testimony by two Utah sheriffs.
If you love animals please let your voice be heard. I know my compassionate community in the state of Utah can help end this inhumane form of euthanizing animals. Please contact your house representatives and local sheriffs’ office in support of Bill 69. The only way we will ever see change is if we rise together to protect the animals in our community.”

“Alright amazing humans of our community, BEAUTIFUL Sam has been at the Vermilion Parish shelter in Louisiana for 427 DAYS! One day is too long and 427 is unthinkable! Sam is one of the 49 pit bull type dogs at this facility SUFP funded heart worm treatment and spays & neuters for. This sweet boy and his ears are more than ready for a home. About Sam: “Sam is calm in his kennel and waits patiently for walks or flashes those big puppy dog eyes for treats. He is content lounging in a lap while watching dogs around him. He always seems to find his light and gives us his best “blue steel” at all times. Sam is an alpha pup and we recommend he be the only animal in the home, but don’t worry, Sam will give you all the attention you will ever need. He is such a love bug!”

When I first met Mr. B, it was clear that humans have not been nice to him in his pre-shelter life 😔. He was triggered with fear and anxiety just by me approaching his kennel.
But look at these huge strides he has made in such a short time. He now squishes his body against the kennel for loves whenever I come by 🥰. He is learning that humans can be kind. He is learning humans can be trusted.
Mr. B is an absolute ball of squish who would love very much for his own family to snuggle with. He has shown some food aggression (understandably due to his neglectful past) so a slow introduction with other dogs in the home is recommended.
