Zazie Beetz Instagram – It’s 3am, what else do you want me to say? ••• For all those who think they are late bloomers🌺 I didn’t have my first kiss until my seventeenth birthday at the stroke of midnight. It wasn’t at all the scenario that I had pictured it to be, but it was actually the most perfect experience for who I was then, and I would never change it. I was ready. I had wondered for years if something was wrong with me, and my mom’s friend wisely advised “just you wait, because once it starts, it never ends”. She was right :) You are YOU and no one else will know when you are ready to do ANYTHING until you do. I have always been the blossom that opens her petals later in the season, and nothing sexual ever occurred in the way I expected it to (you know, the idea that you’re lifelong friends and then one day you admit to each other that you love each other and then you kiss and date and have sex and fall forever into a deeper love and wow you’ve known that you were each others’ soulmates since you were six years old- or something along those lines ;) but every experience I’ve had was with the right person, a kind person, a good person, a time that fit right into my path. I ALSO WANT TO SAY that if you shared kisses, or had sex, or tried alcohol, or tried drugs (or whatever) during a time that you felt was too early for you, NOTHING WAS STOLEN FROM YOU. This is a part of your journey and YOU get to decide what is your truest initiation into anything sexual or otherwise. You don’t LOSE your virginities. You never LOSE. You are only gaining in self.
