It can be daunting to step on to such an established set where everyone knows each other and you look to those who know what they’re doing to lean on for support. As an actor your instinct is to turn to fellow cast, but my first few days at work were by myself shooting parts of Bel’s journey.
The crew were so welcoming and kind and generous and made it so easy for me to run away from Daleks I couldn’t actually see, throw myself round a Lupari ship as I launch it into hyper and chat to a very sweet albeit non verbal Tigmi … I can’t thank them enough. (Especially @ianfowler74 and @amy_riley_makeup who were side by side with me every day.)
Without the music and pace of the edit, sometimes you feel a bit silly and self conscious as you shoot takes in silence by yourself, but they all believed in and loved what we were doing and that’s infectious. They made it a safe space to go to work and have fun and I can’t tell you how much of a difference that kind of environment makes.
Seeing @azhursaleem ‘s final cut went far beyond what I’d imagined and I still can’t quite believe this is real …
