Hands down the best experience of my life. Thank you @brownjryan for creating this world for us to explore, @noemispanos and our Euston family for jumping on board alongside Chris Martin, and @chrisbaugh23 for steering us through some pretty unpredictable seas. A massive thanks to our incredible crew in the production office, workshops and on the ground with us who kept us trucking forwards relentlessly and tirelessly – we’d be nothing without you. @louisekielycasting thank you for bringing all of these incredibly talented humans into the room and subsequently into my life – you found some quare good’ns 😈 We fell head over heels in love with each other and this city like absolute saps, made something we’re super proud of/ excited about and had some deadly craic whilst we were at it. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. So proud of every single one of this team 💚 Wrecked (w/t) will be coming to you later this year on BBC3 🛳🐥☠️

The Crew. Most of them are annoying. They talk too much, are too loud and wear too much glitter, but beggars can’t be choosers I suppose. Jamie is Jamie. Olly’s too nice. The parrot is called Pip and the only one I actually care about. Sophia wears too much pink and thinks she’s all that. Lauren takes spontaneous dips when she’s supposed to be on shift. Lily’s fit. Rosie and Cormac are two of the tallest people I’ve ever met in my life. Literal giants with great cheekbones. Other observations: the work is insufferable, but I enjoy the breaks. More anon, Vivian. WRECK – BBC3. This Autumn.

This was an accidental double exposure that ended up being quite a cool shot. One of the biggest luxuries as an actor is having a set that is fully interactive. I was expecting a lot of green screen work and to be using bits of tape as eye lines but that was hardly ever the case and stepping onto the Lupari craft for the first time genuinely took my breath away. The consoles glowed, the mechanisms were functional and I could duck, dive and hide behind different sections when a bunch of Cybermen very rudely boarded without invitation. It was so big I could run from the back of the ship to the front at a full sprint. My favourite part though, was standing at the main control panel and gazing out. A curtain with stars painted on it had been draped in front so when I looked up, it really felt like I was out there on my own, navigating the broken universe. It was so mesmerising and as someone who dream(s)t of being an astronaut, but knows that will never happen, this was pretty damn magical. Thank you to the entire team who designed, built, dressed and lit my favourite set I’ve ever been on. The attention to detail was unbelievable. A dream come true for a 23 year old who will never have good enough eyesight to fly in real life. #DoctorWhoDay #35mm #PentaxMX

A board on location in the gorgeous Welsh dunes as we shot part of Bel’s opening montage … It can be daunting to step on to such an established set where everyone knows each other and you look to those who know what they’re doing to lean on for support. As an actor your instinct is to turn to fellow cast, but my first few days at work were by myself shooting parts of Bel’s journey. The crew were so welcoming and kind and generous and made it so easy for me to run away from Daleks I couldn’t actually see, throw myself round a Lupari ship as I launch it into hyper and chat to a very sweet albeit non verbal Tigmi … I can’t thank them enough. (Especially @ianfowler74 and @amy_riley_makeup who were side by side with me every day.) Without the music and pace of the edit, sometimes you feel a bit silly and self conscious as you shoot takes in silence by yourself, but they all believed in and loved what we were doing and that’s infectious. They made it a safe space to go to work and have fun and I can’t tell you how much of a difference that kind of environment makes. Seeing @azhursaleem ‘s final cut went far beyond what I’d imagined and I still can’t quite believe this is real … #DoctorWhoDay #35mm #PentaxMX
Thanks to the lovely folk over at @tayto_ni for sending across some goodies ! LOVE the enamel pins!! Decent spuds in every sense of the phrase 😬 (Tune is obvs Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus does not belong to me … pls nobody sue me)
I love a call sheet and a set of sides. Love the insane amount of information that gets packed in and I read every single word like a little nerd. I find it comforting to know who’s there and what’s going on and to remember we’re all part of something much bigger than any one of us, squirrelling away together. These ones were extra special. Every day I picked them up and put them in my keep warm I couldn’t believe my luck #DoctorWhoDay #35mm #PentaxMX
The Pain In My Ass. You know me, not usually one for friendship. People are disappointing, better to keep them at arm’s length. I thought Jamie was just a wet fart at first, but he’s actually alright. Apparently his sister’s missing or something and that’s why he’s really on here? Not sure yet. Will keep you posted. The Mascot. I spent the summer working on a cruise ship whose mascot was this big creepy duck called Quacky. The whole thing just gives me bad vibes tbh and I think there’s some weird shit going on here. I know it sounds made up, and I guess it’s one of those things you have to see to believe, which you can do soon because I think someone filmed bits and named it ‘Wreck’. They’re showing it on BBC3 this Autumn. If you’re impatient and can’t wait till then, they’re doing an advanced screening in the Prince Charles Cinema on August 26th in London at @frightfestuk … tickets on the website. More anon, Vivian.

The Officers. Karen is a jobsworth. A poncy know it all with her smarmy little minions, Beaker and Sam. Never in my life have I wanted to shove a walkie talkie so badly where the sun don’t shine. The overwhelming stench of aftershave is unbearable and the gum Beaker chews obnoxiously does nothing to cover his fish breath. More anon, Vivian. WRECK – BBC3. This Autumn.
