Tomorrow is the final day to cast your ballot to defend reproductive freedom and defeat the right-wing recall of Governor Gavin Newsom. With Roe v. Wade under attack, everything we have fought for in California is on the line. Planned Parenthood stands proudly with Governor Newsom, a fearless champion for reproductive freedom and access to health care. #pinkoutthevote #istandwithplannedparenthood #bansoffourbodies #votenorecall
The list of things I can’t control seems to be growing. Thank you for today @guiniushair ❤️✂️

#thehallwaytrilogy by #adamrapp is one of my most treasured acting experiences. It was three plays all set in the same hallway in 1953, 2003 (Paraffin pictured here) and 2053 with a company of 14 actors each doing 2 of the plays over the course of the week. At #rattlestickplaywrightstheater in 2011. Here with my director Daniel Aukin and fellow actor William Apps. I miss plays. And these people. Thanks for the memories @stulewis @kidsandwolves 📸 by #glennfitzgerald ❤️

March is Red Cross Month and there is a critical need for blood. Go to redcross.org to find a donation center near you. It’s pretty easy and they give good snacks. @americanredcross 🩸
So proud to call @stephsinclairpix a friend and of her tireless work supporting girls around the world. @tooyoungtowed #Repost @tooyoungtowed with @use.repost ・・・ RELEASED TODAY: The @nytimes new article “What a High-Risk Pregnancy Looks Like After Dobbs” explains in grave detail the new reality thousands of women must endure following the Supreme Court ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which eliminated the constitutional right to abortion. TYTW Founding Executive Director and Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist, @stephsinclairpix, spent two weeks photographing the effects of this ruling at The Cleveland Clinic’s maternal-fetal medicine department, and her powerful photos can be seen throughout the article. The article will also run in print this weekend as a 12-page spread in the NYT magazine. Pregnancy can be dangerous — occasionally fatal — for both women and the fetuses they hope to deliver. On Friday, June 24, 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned the precedent set nearly 50 years ago by Roe v. Wade, stripping what was once a constitutional right from half the population. This decision has already had catastrophic consequences, most notably on child and adolescent girls now forced to carry their pregnancies to term. “Everyone was really emotional and upset that this was actually happening,” Dr. Amanda Kalan, a specialist in maternal fetal medicine, says. “The people making the laws are not doctors, and they don’t understand the implications of all of these laws.” Being forced to carry and deliver a child while still a child oneself causes irreversible physical and psychological trauma. Complications, such as maternal and infant morbidity and mortality, and risks of other severe chronic health issues are much higher in mothers under 20 years of age and their babies. Additionally, young girls who keep their pregnancies are more likely to drop out of school and struggle to find adequate employment to provide for their children, who are then, in turn, more likely to have a young pregnancy themselves, helping to reinforce intergenerational cycles of poverty.
