Carson Meyer Instagram – FREE Breastfeeding Class ✨ I missed World Breastfeeding Week but every day should be World Breastfeeding Week in my book! I hope by now most out there know how exceptionally beneficial breastfeeding is for mothers and babies. There’s no formula on earth that comes close to delivering the same nutrition, microbial, emotional, hormonal, immunological or physical benefits that breastfeeding provides. I could list hundreds of benefits and studies here to prove my point but instead I want to honor WBF by providing a free (donation based) class open to all looking for support and resources on their journey. This class is also open to birth workers looking to grow their toolkit for supporting parents. As a doula I find that most mothers set out with the intention to breastfeed (because the benefits are made very clear) but when we look at stats in the US we see that a majority stop within first 6 months and only 13% of babies are exclusively breastfed!!!!! I believe this is due to lack of support, paid leave, poor guidance and high intervention in hospital setting, corporate-sponsored misinformation and an overall lack of resources for what can be a very challenging journey for some.
