I’ve been away from IG for a bit to concentrate on my prep and mental health. And if you saw my stories this weekend, you know what we went through with Pupcake (who is doing great on her meds and we’re really hopeful.) So my podcast went up late yesterday because I recorded it yesterday. 😆 But here’s a bit of what the episode is about…

My competition season is almost over and y’all… it has been a rough one.
.
The majority of it was filled with more stress, more depressive episodes, less sleep than I ever would have imagined and a near constant struggle to see results.
.
My goal this season was to be the leanest I’ve ever been and look the best I’ve ever looked on stage.
.
I’ve been chasing a this goal so hard and have been so stressed that it has hindered my progress. My mental health is suffering, my body is suffering and, as hard as this is to admit, I have slipped back into a lot of the thought patterns I had and have had relapses of some of my old ED behavior for the first time since my recovery 8 years ago. Not because I dislike the way I look, I LOVE the way I look right now… but because I wanted to reach a goal and I put a timeline on it.

So Saturday, I decided I was going to let go of that expectation. I decided, Maybe I’ll lose enough to look better than I’ve ever looked on stage, maybe I won’t, but I’m still going to do the work and enjoy the process. I shifted my focus to loving where my body is right now and pushing myself in my workouts for the sake of getting as fit as possible and proving to myself that I’m stronger than I feel like I am because that’s fun for me! I’m excited to see where I am for my last show of the season regardless of where I end up.
