Tamara Braun Instagram – My first time making #focaccia
Pretty easy but I didn’t use a large enough bowl and did not put enough oil in the pan. Be generous…Gotta make it slick!!
Ingredients:
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons salt(I used pink Himalayan)
1 packet active yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
2 tablespoons olive oil (more to coat pan)
Toppings:
Coarse flakey salt
Rosemary
Kalamata olives
And drizzle of olive oil
Mix 2 cups luke warm water with the yeast set aside for 20 minutes (it will foam)
Mix flour, and salt with fork, whisk or whatever tickles your fancy.
Add water and yeast mixture. Mix until sticky. Drizzle a little oil on top to keep from drying out. Cover with damp towel or plate and let rise(proof) for 1 1/2-2 hours.
Remove cloth and then stretch dough a bit by folding it like in video.
Cover with towel again and let sit for another 30 minutes.
Oil 9×13 pan generously (unlike in video) and put in dough. Stretch to fit pan. Cover for another 30 minutes to an hour.
Drizzle some more oil on dough and fingers and make dimples in dough, salt it, place rosemary and olives on (press in) and BAKE at 425 for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool for 10 minutes and ENJOY!!
