Ulrika Jonsson Instagram – This is not me. This is my mum. As you can see, I get my looks from my dad. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums out there. To all the women who no longer have mums. To all the women who have never wanted to be mums. To all the women who are mums AND dads. To all the dads who are mums, too. To all the stepmums who step up. But not the wicked ones, obvs. To all the mums who may not have their children any longer for whom today will be filled with immeasurable pain. To all the women who long to be mums. Being a mum has been my raison d’être. But being a mum is not all that I am. I am a woman in my own right. You are no less a woman because you are not a mum. (Although, doubtless you’ll have had more sleep…). #mothersday
Ulrika Jonsson Instagram – Despite being utterly knackered; spent; bit broken I resolved to make these #lussekatter on a rare, bit of a day off. In the run-up to #lucia on 13th December, the Swedes devour these sweet saffron buns. Mine will go in the freezer as I’ll be away. One Ungrateful wondered why I bothered because no one eats them. She’s right. A few of us love them. For me it’s about keeping tradition alive. Keeping me connected to my Sweden. I miss it painfully and it’s been over 2yrs now. And the pain is palpable. #lucia #sweden
