Home Music Director Sid Sriram HD Photos and Wallpapers October 2022 Sid Sriram Instagram - I think explaining one culture’s form of music by using the vocabulary of another culture’s form of music is counterproductive. For example, trying to explain the concept of Raga by correlating it to the western concept of Mode is flawed (I used to do it when I was younger). So much dimension and nuance is fully lost in translation. And what is music without dimension and nuance? Not sure what the alternative is, and there should be an alternative because cross cultural conversation when it comes to music is beautiful and powerful. Maybe we try to explain things visually? Driving home at and exploring abstractions rather than trying to box things in for convenience. Here is a little round of Kalpana swaram in the raga Kannada

Sid Sriram Instagram – Some mornings I wake up and I see clouds, they’re beautiful and ambiguous. They drift slowly
Some mornings I wake up and see nothing at all, I stare into an empty blue that feels sterile
Some mornings, I walk outside and breathe in cold air. First thing, before looking at my phone or at myself in the mirror
I breathe in cold air and feel the infinite flow to all parts of my body
Some mornings, I find myself falling into myself, caving in to every last thought that occurs. And they don’t occur one at a time, they occur all at once. Cacophony
Beautiful, kaleidoscopic, aggressive and loud
The light shines the same way at the start of every day.
The sun, it slowly rises above the ridge that sits steadfast right across from my backyard
The chip on my shoulder has shapeshifted over the years, but remains just as heavy, just as steadfast as ever
Sid Sriram Instagram – In the mind today//
– the genesis of anything profound is chaotic. The birth of a child is anything but calm. There’s pain, gasping for first breaths, drastic Re-orientation, bursts of light
– The path to liberating oneself can start with silent moments
– Mirrors can be mechanisms for both extreme narcissism and extreme self reflection
– Seems like confidence doesn’t really come from talent, genius, etc. It comes from being a solid individual
– I got a new piano that I’m pretty hype about
