Daniel Johns Instagram – When imagining Past, Present & FutureNever we had a vision to create 2 distinct spaces each designed to elicit a very different response from people.
A completely free easily accessible, light and bright gallery space with a focus on minimalism before juxtaposing that experience with a dark and bold journey into the FutureNever in the main space next door.
Today is the last day to see the former, as we close this part of the exhibition down after an incredible run.
@claire_foxton thank you so much for the glorious 8m mural of a 1997 me. While I’ll be emotional to see it painted over, I’m truly grateful that many of us were able to see this piece of art in full bloom.
To @theglassfrontproject thank you for bringing my vision for the FutureNever ghost pianola to life, it’s a glorious beast that I’m looking forward to having in my studio at home. To @beau_golden thank you for taking my songs back to the FutureNever in such wonderful and unexpected ways.
To the team @fingerscrossed_creative thank you for figuring out a way to build a truly monstrous (in the most wonderful way) stack of amplifiers and cabs celebrating many chapters of my musical legacy. I’ve loved seeing the photos of people standing in front of this monolithic installation.
Finally to my new friends at @rialtomelbourne thank you infinitely for allowing me to be the first person to occupy this space in your incredible building.
The bad news, your last chance to EVER see this space is today until 5pm this evening. To the people of Melbourne, come and celebrate art instead of celebrating animal cruelty on this public holiday.
The good news, the main space is open until December 23rd and the FreakBox is back!!
