Fiann Smithwick Instagram – A couple of nice large ichthyosaur teeth I found recently on the Jurassic Coast.

Usually, you only find the crowns of these teeth (the shiny top part) when they’re loose like this, but with these ones, the roots were there as well. You can see just how deep the roots were, which anchored the teeth strongly in the jaws, enabling the animal to bite its prey with huge force.
